The pink fused alumina is one kind of abrasive grain in the alumina oxide family. It has a rose-red color, and so it is called pink fused alumina. It has a very beautiful appearance and it comes from the addition of chrome oxide in the smelting process. When more chrome oxide is added, the materials will start to show a deep pink color, and then we get ruby-fused alumina. The chrome oxide constituent produces an increase in toughness when it is compared with white fused alumina, and it also enhances its grinding capacity. The different content of chrome oxide results in diverse color depth
The hardness of the pink fused alumina is close to that of white fused alumina, its toughness is very much higher than that of the white fused alumina but very lower than that of brown fused alumina, and also its grinding efficiency is very much higher than that of white fused alumina. The abrasive tools are also made of pink fused alumina and it has excellent durability and very high processing cleanness. Due to the feature of better toughness, higher hardness, and strong grinding efficiency, pink-fused alumina has a high processing efficiency than that white-fused alumina when it is used for processing tough materials. The Pink fused alumina is very much suitable for manufacturing vitrified abrasives for working hardened steels and alloys with tensile strengths of over 50 kg. It is also used in the process of tool grinding, saw & knife-sharpening applications, precision grinding process, profile grinding, flute grinding process, tooth grinding, dry grinding process of blade segments and mounted points and wheels.
