What is Trunnion Ball Valve? 

A trunnion ball valve is a special ball valve where the bottom and top are mechanical anchoring devices trunnioned on the ball.  High-pressure stable operation is supported by this, apart from taking stress off the valve seat.  Trunnion ball valves are tighter-closing and better applicable to large diameter pipes compared to floating ball valves.

How a Trunnion Ball Valve Works 

 In order to open or close the flow, the valve turns the ball 90 degrees.  The seats travel to create a seal, but the ball seated on the trunnion remains fixed.  This design even when subjected to high pressure and temperature fluctuations ensures consistent sealing performance.
